Shame its not for you. I am on 994 hours and counting, though I have left it for a while (replaying through oblivion) I am sure I will come back to it again.

You need more experience on Skyrim, it's a wonderful game
pedantic_roc 23 Thg08, 2014 @ 5:18pm
That was a shrewd investment then.

13 hours? That's like 5 pages of a 700 page book...dude, if you are having trouble with a dragon just run away. There's no shame.

I thought i was the only one that lazy, if i'm in a town i let Guards do most of the work.

Most AAA games take less then 4 hours to play through now. Skyrim is not like most AAA games.

I completely understand how the breadth of the world can feel too much. You'll always wonder if you are missing some content.

The trick for me was to be okay with missing stuff. Treat it like real life, focus on just one town and feel free to ignore the other quests. Notice how the quest log isn't in the tab menu, but the escape menu? It's also okay to leave loot on the dead mobs or cleared dugeons. It's also okay to waste resources like ore on non optimal choices.

Make the world small by focusing on just one quest line and only loot the really powerful loot, then you won't have to make many trips back to your home to unload it. It will also make the world more actiony.

If you are having combat difficulty, make sure you are on the easiest combat diffculty, and hit tab to down a healing potion, that's what they are for. I drink the stuff like it's kool aid.

drop difficulty down to novice and have fun being boss

If these suggestions don't work, try what I did in Fallout 3 when I just couldn't stay interested. I used cheats to give me all perks, skills, and whatever gear I wanted. Then I was able to play the game's storyline without worrying about leveling correctly. Just be warned, for many people that would ruin the game. I also found a mod that really enhanced the game by adding realistic body armor and gun skins. Made the game feel like Modern Warfare set in the post apocolypse.

You couldn't stay interested in FO3? Really - wowsers! What game did you play before FO3 that made it so bad for you?

Mods do your work and delete this tread.

Everytime I leveled I'd spend a good 30minutes trying to figure out what the correct perk to take was. And after all that time spent, I'd still feel like I might have chosen wrong. Then I'd spend all day in the Wasteland wondering if I was going the correct way to find something. Then a combat encounter would occur and I couldn't hit crud, V.A.T.S. would have to do all my aiming so I spent every encounter hiding till my action points recharged. Simple run ins with bandits would take forever.

I don't get this from sandbox games, but something Bethesda does makes the game harder to enjoy.
