What is your elder scrolls noob story?
What was your experience like when you were a noob at elder scrolls?

Mine was quite interesting at least if I may say so myself. Morrowind was my first elder scrolls game and I can honestly say I probably completely less than 10 quests while playin it. I was young at the time probably 10-11, and playing on the xbox version. I was really intrigued by the descrpiption of the game on the box and was sold instantly. With that I really didn't know what I was getting into. I never played a game anything like elder scrolls before so I had no idea what leveling was like or how to paly the game. I did understand the unrestricted freedom the game offered so I ran with it.

At first I was interested in the quests, and i got as far as meeting the imperial blade commado who had a skooma problem. He helped me get some armor and weapons then sent me on a suicide mission to some dwarven ruins where I got ganked by some angry dwarven ghosts over and over again. I never completed that mission to this very day and eventually abandoned that quest all together. So not know what to do with myself I decided to do what any rational TES player would do... steal stuff. I was hanging around the town where that blades guy was and found the guard barracks and decided I wanted to steal all their weapons, it didnt go over well with the guards and i was killed.

After reloading I some how found and joined the theives guild so i could put my talents to good use. My first heist was goipng well and I mananged to steal some rich guys stuff only to for him to awaken as i was on my way out, naturally I could not leave a witness so I was forced to kill him. Because of this my partnership with the thieves guild came to an abrupt end. Again no searching for a purpose I decide to take a look at the map that came with the game and go sight seeing.

I essentially go town to town talking with npcs and shoplifting from stores, I had the guards chasing me from vivec to the sea of ghosts. I eventally stumbled on a recruiter for the imperial legion, so I decide to clean up my act and enlist. My first mission is to clear out of cave of rats or something and I fail miserably. I then go awol and start wandering again.

I wandered and found random things for the rest of the time I spent playing Morrowind never completeing a single other quest.

And you've never even completed the Dragonborn questline, eh? :)

I guess my biggest noob mistake was thinking my character was seriously bad ass at level 10 or so and charged right into a pair of giants near White Run.

Lydia died first and then I was airborne. :OhNoBlue:

Walking at night over the Whiterun tundras, and I see these liitle lights. Paranoid as I am I sneaked forward and found myself face to face with glowbugs. I found the presence of insects pretty amazing.

When I first played Oblivion years ago I didn't know you had to sleep to level. Played a little more than I'd care to mention before figuring it out.

Slapping a DVD in a CD-ROM drive and wondering why it wouldn't load.

I started with Oblivion in March this year, and spent a whole day (IRL) trying to figure how the hell you get into the Imperial city, because i couldn't find a gate ANYWHERE. then i realised that i had walked past probably a dozen times. then when i got to Oblivion i thought it would be i good idea to attck a clannfear runt. Screw them.
First time playing TES ever (Skyrim)! Was veery excited. Completed the first dragon event as a prisoner and stuff.
Went to Riverwood, saw some chickens... whack!! Villagers hunted me down and there died.

After a while i went into a house at night. The owner shooed me out and I ignored him. Then he shouted "Guard!!"
In came the guard. He's too tough for me to keel. I ran (all this time i didn't save my game). Upon exiting the door the game auto-save. I can't outrun the guard who kept shooting me down with a bow. And no other save file to return to, I always return to the point after I exit the door. Kept getting shot down over and over.

Started new game afterwards.

Same here, I found out it was due to me sneaking all the time.

I had Oblivion and played it heaps. Then when Skyrim came out I found out that you can fast travel. The whole time in Oblivion I would walk or ride a horse to destinations :S

That's actually how I found out about it... I had finally leveled up Sneak enough to get the Roll move, and thought "huh, that's weird that this key isn't used for anything el--ohhhhhhhhh".
