What is your favorite Hold?
I'm not talking about Hold capitals, but the Holds themselves...each region in Skyrim has its own, unique atmosphere and vegetation.

The barren and jagged craglands of the Reach teeming with Forsworn tribals, the Rohanesque plains of Whiterun, the temperate forests of Falkreath, the volcanic terrain of Eastmarch, the windswept and utterly silent, eerie icewastes of Winterhold...which part of Skyrim's countryside do you find most enthralling and magical?

Me? Right now Winterhold. Yes, it is barren and looks crappy in comparison with the lush greenery and beauty of other holds. But there is something really magical about Winterhold...you feel so lonely and isolated...and cold. You can see the winds blowing ice off the white dunes and frozen cliffs around you...and in front of you a dark ocean stretches, somewhere beyond which lies the frozen continent of Atmora. Standing at the northern edge of Tamriel has a wild beauty of its own.

I think I'd have to say I like Whiterun and the Reach the most, mainly due to feeling more open. Maybe it's because you sort of start there, but Whiterun also always feels the most home-y :)
I do like Winterhold a lot, and exploring the coastline can be fun. It always feels so small, or at least under-developed though. I guess that's partly due to the backstory of the region, but they could have done more with the ruins at least.

I really like Rift and Winterhold. Rift - because here placed my favorite place in skyrim, a fallen tree between the rocks, which placed close to waterfall. Winterhold - unique atmosphere and view, also I like unpopulated places

I love ambling around the Reach, picking juniper berries and fights with Forsworn. I also like Winterhold, though, although since playing with Frostfall I don't get up there much.

The Rift as for winterhold I know exactly what you mean last time I died there ... Frostfall can be very cruel indeed.

I know Hjaalmarch is known for its Marshland, but anybody know what defining feature the Pale has?

I'm going to have to go for the Rift because it's a very beautiful region that reminds of Autumn and looks quite aesthetically pleasing. Falkreath would make a good second in my opinion as I'm quite fond of the area around Lake Illinalta since it's such a pretty lake.
