so i made it alive through the prologue. is there a way to leave the lone manse alive?

When I went to investigate the MacLeod house, I cannot leave it even though I have clicked on every option in every room. The option to leave is disabled. So the game became unfinishable pretty soon after I started, which seems to me a serious bug.

It opens and the farther it gets is a blank white screen. Sometimes it says a generic error with useless advice. Okay it works now. I restarted and opened it, wouldn't work so I went here. I opened again and it works. You have to restart PC or STEAM, then start the game once, close if it hangs, and open again. That's all I got if anyone has the same problem....
