Runaway: Road Adventure: DirectX 8.0 is not installed?

I have a newer version installed, made sure my graphics card is updated, and did a fresh install of DirectX but still getting this issue. Not sure what's going on. The second game in the series appears to work fine for me.

Just downloaded the whole series through steam and get the same problem you described. Did you find a fix?

Hello bradly. I "sort of" found a fix. Sadly I had to actually had to dump my computer completely, and reinstall operating system, which I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. Then I reinstalled Runaway let it install what it needed, and made sure to, via Steam configure the graphics for it. You get that option when you run it from steam. SO I never actually pin pointed the actual problem. But since I have been on the Windows 7 OS (the 90 day trial until I can pay for it) any games I previously had any ISSUE with have not occured. Including being able to run the MMO Vindictus, since it was for some reason no longer compatible with Vista.
