classic: city escape
modern: sky sanctuary
boss: egg dragoon
3ds version
classic: radical highway
madern: casino night
boss: big arm
Modern: I gotta go with Crisis City Act 2. It takes what the original track had and makes it about 10000 times awesomer. Casino Night (Act 2 in the 3DS version) was an extremely close second.
Boss: Death Egg Robo. Orchestral + Drumset + 3-phase buildup? Yes.
I also particularlly like how the high-fidelity version of Sky Sancturary Act 1 Came out.
I actually think Chemical Plant Act 2 was one of the more brilliant remixes. Somehow, they were able to slow down the tempo of the main theme, yet keep the intensity from the original. At least, that's how I see it.
Personally I feel like it spends too long falling over itself at the beginning, and it doesn't add much the new sections to the score that the other pieces do. It also doesn't have the fast/slow layers that the green hill and sky sancturary tracks have. But hey, it's good music to run to, and still more detailed than the relatively simplistic unleashed day tracks.
True, true. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some music to listen to... :3
