BUG Launching sonic generations

My Sonic gen game was working just fine 2 days ago...thanmy windows 8 got updated to 8.1. Now it wont open at all. Every time i try i get "T he detection configuration dose not match your hardeware. Pleas re-run the Configuration tool" I went through all the tool settings and every combanation and i get the same error...can sombody please help me?

When i got that Error it helped to just delete all the .cfg files in the Sonic Generation file and then re-run the configuration tool.

Yep, delete the .cfg files, then run the configuration again.

I was just dealing with this today. Go to program files, then steam, then steamapps, then sonic generations, then delete all the .cfg files and you should be good to go.
