Game Crashes on Start

Hello,
My Game Crashes imidiently after start.
What should i do?

find the game..c:/program file x86/steam/steam apps/common/tomb raider and right click on the application icons,go to properties check admin rights and run under xp2...do this with every app you can find...sometimes direct x app wont install correctly without doing this..almost every old game ive installed into win 7 x64 i have to do this...if that dosnt work maybe its your drivers,video card,etc...just a thought anyway...hope that helped you out

Try to disable the Next Generation Content from the setup and run the game.

what r u trying to run this game on...pc,notebook...what video card??? everything runs great for me

Win7 Ultimate 64bit (in a few days i change to win8)

Data Execution Prevention (DEP) was the cause for me..error with crash was Access violation (c0000005).
Vista fix = go to Control Panel/System/Advanced system settings/tab: Advanced/Performance:Settings button/tab: Data Execution Prevention/ ...then Add/allow the Legend .exe file (example path = C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Tomb Raider Legend\trl.exe)
I'd tried video settings, compatibility mode, run as Admin. DEP fix worked for me

Ok, Issue solved for me.
After installed windows 8, it runs without any problem

Edit: DEP says: Your computer´s processor supports hardware-based DEP. Problem? How do I turn it off in BIOS?

I had this exact same problem, add and message me and I'll walk you through how I fixed it.

Don't know if it will be a gaurenteed solution, but it was just trial and error tweeking the settings on my part.

Got game working!! I have F-Secure AVP and firewall. I did add Tomb Rider folder as "bypass target folder".

It goes somthing like -> SETTINGS->COMPUTER->VIRUS AND SPYWARE PROGRAMS CHECK-> from there CLICK last link "OPEN BYPASS TARGET LIST" -> TARGETS-> check box "Do not check list" -> ADD -> "E:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Tomb Raider Legend"

Now it works for me..

EDIT: I did turn DEP back to default and game still works fine, so DEP was not issue.

I was having issues on startup until I was able to set screen to native resolution. Got the home screen a few times and once I changed it, it has worked fine. Running Win 7 btw.
