I finally got this game working on Windows 10

1. Compatibility mode
2. controller setup

1.First I right-clicked the game from my steam library and went to the properties option, and selected browse local files.In the game's directory right click nba2k11.exe. and select properties. Run compatibility troubleshooter, located in the compatibility tab on the top, for me, the setting it found was windows 7. Make sure to double check that the suggestions the troulbeshooter made are applied, then click ok at the botton of the properties window.

2. I was using an x360 controller which was all messed up and didn't work. I downloaded Inputmapper (1.6.10). WITH STEAM CLOSED, I ran inputmapper BEFORE i plugged in my PS4 CONTROLLER. As soon as NBA2K fired up, steam big picture tried to recognize my new controller, but it couldn't so i just cancelled the setup and NBA2K launched..Everything works except i have x360 icons but i don't care at all.

Depending on the controller you use you might have to change various setting through inputmapper, which can be a terrible process, but I hope this might help someone because I have been trying to get this game to work for about a month.
