Newbie have a few questions about LP1 EC

Hi all.

1) Aiming options: I'm brand new to this game so I'm still getting used to it. Some of the interface is very confusing to me, such as all the "aiming" options? Which should you use and what are the differences? I have it on normal 2. Not sure what changing it will do.

2) These coins you find around the first mission. What do I do with them? What are they for?

3) I've tried to switch weapons (on foot) in combat, menu says mouse wheel, but it doesn't change the weapon. What am I doing wrong?

Overall the game looks like fun. Kinda hard to move, running is slow, but jumping is insane. Once I get used to it I guess it will feel better. Any tips or suggestions for a noob would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you collect all the Target markers "coins",you'll unlock Luka if i spelled it right.she is the main girl character in the game.when you unlock her,it is for online battle.you can select her in character select menue.but i suggest looking it up on youtube to see the locations of the target markers on normal difficualty.they are in really stupid locations you'll probaly never find lol.other than that,the online game play makes this game the best game ever created.i don't know what to tell you about the M&KB CONTROLLS.I use a controller.i'm sure my fried HiPOL Will be here to tell you about M&KB controlls soon lol.add me if you want me to show you the ropes online.the problem is you got this game way to late so no one accept me and maybe 1 oof my friends will play with you.also not many ppl have what it takes to be good at this game online so they say it sucks and give up on it.they're idea of a good game is run and gun outdated first person easy gaebage,that takes little skill.if you get good at lp and have the nack for it you will understand.later

Thanks for that. Yeah, I picked it up because of the sale price. I never played a console game in my life. I'm a PC gamer, never owned an xbox of PS# so the controllers baffle me. lol. I'm kind of an old guy at 43 to be playing games, but hey, I love single player too.

When you say collect the target markers, do you mean smash them? Cause that's all I could do to them. Couldn't pick them up.

Smash or shoot the markers. The markers used to give various achievements on Live (the XBOX 360 thing) which was awesome, but that's no more, for the PC. :| Also, I don't think gaming is age-specific, or at least, it shouldn't be. Adults are allowed to have fun, too. :) I'm 27.

:) 27 is still very young, but hey, now that you mention LP1 I do have a question. How if the **** do you kill the giant snow worm thingy? I've tried shooting it in the mouth, from the side, he eventually devours me, although last night I fought him to nearly 20 minutes. Help!

Basically don't bother with the big snow worm. It was an achievement but it'll only respawn in 2 mins and fight you again. Just run to the other end of the snow field. Secondly, if you look in your library entry for lost planet, on the right-hand side it'll have the link to the manual for anymore information on the Sensitivity settings.

Here i am DavidDZ :) . For mouse i recommend aiming type : Fixed 4. Of course it depends on your personal preferences and your mouse DPI. I don`t know any other game where you customize keys so well and easy as here. I`ve changed layout 4-5 times until i`ve found the most effective - i`m using now. Default layout is not good in my opinion.

Coins are for achivements that are not added to Steam version of LP EC. But shoting it gives you new character. DavidDZ says it`s Luca, but i guess that`s how it works on PS3 where DavidDZ started his adventure with LP EC. On PC version shoting 10 target marks (coins) unlocks MegaMan character. He has Energy Gun as default weapon. You can use it in campaign and multiplayer.

You can switch weapons when you pick up second weapon found somwehre. Maybe that`s whay it didn`t work ?

I must agree with DavidDZ that Lost Planet 1 or Lost Planet Colonies is best game ever. The more you play the more you love it and learn all details (especialy in multiplayer). I`m not sure if you know that in first phase of roll (unitl you touch the ground) you are immortal for everything (rockets, grenades, VSs, Akrids etc.). Learn it and you`ll be able to dodge any danger. And use anchor for quick traveling. It`s the fastest way of moving in this game (not only up but also forward).
