Joystick issues

Im sure there is something here already, but I didnt feel like looking thru all the post. My joystick does nothing at all while in game, except allowing me to look around the cockpit. It works fine on the older IL-2 and other flight sims. Am I doing something wrong or is this a known issue? Any advice will be appreciated, as I would really like to play this game.

Just a side note, I can assign buttons with no issues. For instance the firing button. It has been saved but again will not respond while ingame, I am forced to press the space bar for any response. So the joystick is being recognized, just not responding while playing.

I just bought this game and boy what a mistake.

I have spent my whole 4 hrs trying to get the joystick and keyboard set up.Using a logitech freedom2.4 and still aint working.

Plane just rolls over to the right all the time.So to fly it I am constantly battling the plane to counter the effects of the joystick.Buttons set up don't seem to work in game.

Then trying to get the engine started on the ground i have given up on.As I said have spent countless hours trying to config this even looking for the simplest set up to get the plane started and flying.Got no idea why i can't get it started.

I feel like punshing my screen it's been so frustrating.

Guys,

I can "pilot" in this game with joystick, RC controller, gamepad, is just mater of configure properly. Is like in il-2 Sturmovik 1946.

This "game" is not just a game - like Bf's or similars - is a "flight simulator" try to mimic a real flight e some procedures, so things like:

" battling the plane to counter the effects of the joystick."

Is expected, you need trim you plane, on ground need use rudder to compensate torque (gyroscopic) effects, etc.

"Then trying to get the engine started on the ground i have given up on."

Is not just hit I" and engine run, you need do the correct procedure, open fuel ♥♥♥♥, set throttle 10% and hit "I". ;)

This game is good (and bugged :) ) and rewarding but need involvement in learn correctly.

My joystick works fine in IL 1946, it just doesnt do crap in Dover. And as far as what type, it doesnt matter, a joystick either works or it doesnt. The game is awesome, just have to work out the bugs

Include a print screen of Controls where you assign button for fire guns.

I had same issue when i first set up game for my TM warthog+cambat pedals. Got everything to work but the stick. I guess i was trying to set axis for stick wrong area, took a look at tutorial somone posted and problem sovled. Airleron and Elevator were the two settings i needed, to get flight stick to work. I have the same joystick and I set the x,y rz axis ,then it worked fine you will have to go into keys and reset the trigger button but once I got all the buttons reset it worked fine.

there is loads of info on setting up joysticks in clod at the ATAG site----as in real life the aircraft need constant trimming and re-trimming--and all aircraft react differently to different inputs---i fly the spitfire and have more or less mastered the trim--i tried the 109 and hurricane and hated them-- where as other people find them easier to trim --

Im having same problem with SAiteck Cyborg Fly 5... ffs
i can look around the cockpit and change the throttle.. but i cant use my gun or control the plane.

Did you guys asign the axis? You have to do that in the controls-section under "options". There is an "axis" tab!
