Men of War: Vietnam

Men of War: Vietnam

This sucks so bad lol
So they used the wrong m16 model (the mag is the size of modern day ones where as the ones used during this war were mostly in the gun as opposed to out of it) You cant fly the helo's.. and you randomly lose guys to traps which wouldnt be so bad except when you walk down a road and all the jungle to the left and right is traped as well as the road...... I get they wanted to be realistic but seriously, losing half my squad no matter what>?

I have beaten the first mission i meant it as in the game is terrible, retarded AI, etc

☠ANTONIUS☠ Aug 20, 2015 @ 12:36am

☠ANTONIUS☠ Aug 20, 2015 @ 12:41am
But i have done most missions on hard with just 70+ hours the game is great just spend a little more time on it and go slow mo if it helps you:critical::AOEKnight:
Ya the game doesn't suck, takes planning, thought, effort, can't just run & gun everything. Hate to break it to some of these people, It's not an FPS, It's an RTS,which means real time strategy, hello! Seems some don't understand what strategy means. I think to many judge this game to hard, It's much more fun if you play it with a friend & co-op the missions. You can play it on GameRanger.com since the origional game spy servers are gone now, RIP game spy. The Jungle was Harsh in real life & it is in this game. I think they have simulated some of the difficulties real Soldiers faced, but arcade style players can't handle that. I read someone complain about the bushes/slash jungle in his face all the time, what the hell do you think a jungle is like? A field with grass & wild Daisy's, no kidding visibility is bad. Research the pit traps they used, horrible, this game replicates them realisticly, zoom in on one once, you can see the bamboo rollers to catch your leg so you can't pull it back out. Blow one up with a grenade & you will see the stakes/spikes at the bottom of the pit, just like they did in Nam! I think maybe some history channel & reading would stop some of the complaints about this game & it's difficulty. A plus in coop with a friend is you get morphine to revive you guys, doesn't seem to be the case in single player campaign mode. Good luck to you all, want a game look for one on gameranger.com. Cheers P.S. Yeah, it's not perfect, but find me a better RTS vietnam game, I'd be happy to check it out.

Ya buddy I know what the game it, i also know stratagy im going to the USNA, thats the navel academy....You know where navel and Marine Corps officers are trained? Ya so strategy isn't hard to me. what is hard it the way troops and AI act, but mostly the lack of effort but into the game.
I agree with you Samurai, it's not perfect, I believe I mentioned that in my post. LMAO, Yeah buddy, I know what USNA is. It's good you spell it out because not every one does.Maybe in officer school they will train you to not call people you don't know buddy, as it comes across darogatory & cocky just the way you meant it.Hmmm well I can blow my HORN About my real world life & what I know but I'm not going to make this a pissing contest. I agree once again it could've been an awesome game & it's just ok, maybe c+. IMOP the game doesn't suck as much as you say in my opinion. You're correct they could have put much more effort into it. They did use the wrong magazine on some of the M16's not all of them. Yeah, in Vietnam they used 20 rnd waffle magazines not 30 rnd mags. I do see some shorter 20 rnd magazines that are accurate in appearance. M16's also don't use submachine gun bullets as those bullets are always a pistol caliber, that's why it's a submachine gun as machine guns take rifle rounds. Seems like this company likes to re-use things to save money time & effort. This game feels like Men of war assault squad(which is a great WWII RTS),with new skins in many places. I've noticed this kind of thing in the animated film industry also, they do it to save money & time, Frozen is an example, though they did the over all movie so well no one ever really notices, or would complain if they did pick up on it. Congratulations, I come from a family of Veterans of multiple conflicts, & Bronze Medals etc.. I aprreciate you & anyone who enters the armed services all the way down to the kitchen workers. It takes alot of support staff to keep men in combat, let a lone officers to order those men. None of that can be accomplished with out dedicated men and women doing their jobs & duties well. I hope you don't get your Ego up to much, An officer is only as good as the men he has around him & on the ground/water/air to execute those orders. You can have the best troopers in the world, but if your leadership isn't up to par, those men & women will die. Obvioulsy good intelligence on the enemy & recon are important hugely important also. DON'T LET YOUR EGO EVER GET IN THE WAY! I'm not saying you have a problem per say, but you were quick to point out how great you are! My post wasn't directed at you, it was a general statement & info for the casual gamer or the xbox, playstation gamers. As I said before, find me a better Vietnam RTS or even turned based game & I'll be happy to play it. P.S. I really enjoyed the music in this game as it was reflective of the time, though I wish they could have gotten Creadence clear water revivals permission to use some of their awesome music that was part of the vietman aera. Peace out! :steamhappy:

Samurai,
I'm sorry to bring this up but since you dropped the USNA acronym to denegrate another post...the guys who go to the naval (with an a) academy are highly educated and extremely intelligent guys who probably know how to spell naval and strategy... Did you mean you already have the grades, congressional appointment, and have been accepted? Or perhaps this is simply a plan for the future?

Should probably learn how to play a game before saying "It Sucks" because really, as the guy above had said, it probably is you. If this game is too much for you maybe something like candy crush or something like that is more your speed. Maybe try board games like SORRY or Mouse Trap, I hear they are making a comeback.

I will say, i think the AI does a better job of controlling your units or men under your command in Men of War & Men of War Assualt Squad. It's wierd because both games were made before this game, so you would think the engine would be at least as good as Men of War Assault Squad. Any how, I have found if you go into options, then game play options you will find an option for auto aim infantry & vehicles, turn this on and they seem to get a bit smarter & better at aiming. I might have the names wrong but you get the general idea & where to look. I remember the auto aim option is different for skirmish & multiplayer. This series of games this company makes all give you lots of micro manage options, this can be a difficult transition for company of heroes type war games, but the Men of War games are well worth it. I'm currently enjoying the campaign. It's a lot more fun if you co-op it with friends or a group. The in game multiplayer is dead, but you can go to gameranger.com & host almost any game you want, but all of the Men of War series games multiplayer feature works on this gaming sight. It's really awesome, I use to play men of war assault squad often online, after game spy died it went away until a friend told me about game ranger. Any how good luck all, it's dangerous running through the Jungle!
