can somebody please tell me how to play this game in full screen? i know, i know, dumb question, i know.

Isn't there an option in the Video setup page? By the way pressing Alt+Enter when in Windowed mode should do the trick.

Yes, i tried different resolutions in settings, it's in full screen now. Good to know that Alt+Enter shortcut

Thanks! I thought my PC went mad! It's dumb though for a game to default to windowed mode!!!
