HOARD

Want the old music back? Here's how!
Tired of the new Hoard music? Wish there was a way to change it back? You're in luck, it is possible!

Instructions and links below

Hoard's old music is a lighthearted fanfare of excitement and whimsy, and is much catcher and fun than the dreaded sort of militaristic music that the developers chose to change to for some reason.

The old music is an assortment of different files. Rather than simply playing a track throughout a level, the music changes dynamically in subtle ways that vary depending on what is happening during the level, and how long the level is played for. Luckily, all these files still exist in the Steam install!

There is a singe file that tells the game which music to play, and how. This file is called musiclogic.nut This file is located in ../Steam/steamapps/common/hoard/encrypteddata

I have uploaded an old version of this file that was previously installed with the game. This file has NOT been modified in any way.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download Old_Hoard_Music.zip
2. Navigate to /Steam/steamapps/common/hoard/encrypteddata folder on your computer
3. Overwrite the musiclogic.nut file there with the file in Old_Hoard_Music.zip
4. Play Hoard and enjoy the music!

Old_Hoard_Music.zip (7.24kb) contains:
musiclogic.nut
readme.txt

{LINK REMOVED}

Note:
Validating the Integrity of your Game Cache WILL revert the musiclogic.nut file to the new one, which will change the music back to the militaristic tracks.

Disclaimer:
This file is from my computer. I regularly scan my computer and can attest to it's cleanliness from any sort of infection, and have uploaded the file to Mediafire, which supposedly scans with BitDefender. However, I take no responsibility for any damage or lost data due to the download and use of this file.

Explanation:
I really enjoyed the old Hoard music, and was disappointed when it was changed to the current style. It all sounds the same and starts to wear after awhile, which ended up annoying me and I would stop playing after only a couple games. I wanted to see if I could change that. After a quick search on the Steam forums and over at the official Hoard forums (which have become overflowing with bot spam), I could see I was on my own. So I decided to poke around in the game files themselves.
That's when I discovered how many files actually make up the music for the game. I could see that simply renaming some files wouldn't bring back the full range of music for all the game modes that I previously enjoyed, so I kept looking.
I've had Hoard installed since release, and I noticed while poking around that the musiclogic.nut file was the only one that was dated much later than all the other .nut files in the folder. Since the new music was one of the last changes that occurred before Big Sandwich games was acquired (and therefore dropped support for Hoard), I had the bright idea to simply replace this single file with an old backup copy of Hoard and see if that changed anything. And, it did!
So here I am, sharing my discovery and hopefully helping more people enjoy part of what originally made Hoard so great.

Mr. Crow, I need your help.
You see... its hard to find any player who actually earned "the treasure gold medal" achivement for Hoard. least of all any info on the internet on how to play it for advanced users.

Mind if I ask you for some tips? so far I got stuck on "pane map" and my dragon can only collect up to 200,000 points (I want all the gold metals).

I tried going slow with a bigger belly, or with a fast dragon, both keep leaving me with 200,000 or less.

Thanks in advance.

I'm new to HOARD but I can tell the old music was better! Thanks a lot for sharing!!:D:
Please add this to the guides of the game: http://steamcommunity.com/app/63000/guides/
It might drop out of focus here easily on the forum and will be found by others as well after you have released it as a guide!

Good luck & thanks for the hints! :)
