NVidia 980m Extremely low FPS

For some reason... I have no idea why... but I am getting around 15 FPS on max setings so i have to lower everything. i can max out most games out, Idk if it's just cause this game and the 980m dont get along or what lol, on my desktop with an AMD 7970 I had no issues. Anyone have the same issue? extreme GPU and low fps on this game?

what resolution r u using?
check fps_max setting in console and report back.

its not a problem with the max fps because if I lower the graphics I can get 60 fps. I just dont get why its a problem for the 980m

Windows 10. Like i said I have no issues with any other game, Idk its weird

it's quite probable you are using crappy drivers. win10 has issues with drivers, usually overriding what customer manually installs, unfortunately. it could also be dx, since win10 doesn't come with dx9 on its own.

i would suggest u try installing the usual dependencies again: newest gpu drivers and dx9[www.microsoft.com].

considering ur machine info, u should not be seeing such low fps. if these fixes do not help, u will need somewhat deeper troubleshooting, and that's not an easy task to go through online.

Agreed on the above........ Make sure you reinstall your GPU drivers and also DX. I'm using a 650 GTX and I get a solid 60 with everything maxed... Personally I don't prefer laptops for gaming anyways...

2. No need to mention any kind of personal dislike towards gaming laptops. I went to college so im not gonna take my whole full tower and I needed a laptop anyway.

I got the same problem when i installed the GTX 750 Ti

seems to just be an issue with the engine

it's more about crappy nvidia gpus and their drivers, giving preference to new aaa games, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up performance everywhere else. i've seen it many times.

Welp, I'm on a 650 GTX (which is older than the above mentioned) and works perfectly fine for me. Could actually have more to do with the entire rig/os too.

.....no. stop. just. stop.youre not helping by saying nvidia has crap drivers. you're just being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. i've had no issues with my 980m, only on this game. and if the drivers are so crap, how can my 980m outperform my 7970 cfx rig on DiRT Rally?

some gpus just work better for different games. I came here for help and i only got some BS from a couple people.

When i say isue with the engine, i say compatibility. jeez. nope, must be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ drivers!
