Helpful advice on the last level (one flew over the coocoos nest)
So I came back to playing this game after so long. last time I quit right at the last level because it ticked me off. I couldn't get a person past the shields with my gifts in tow, and even if I did, I couldn't get them near the cell doors... Now I came back and learned.. so much. the FAQS leave all this information out, which caused me to waste many hours.

The goal is to get a Trojan gift upstairs with two ghosts. 1 needs surge, and the other needs to be able to wake up sleepers (choose a sandman type) after that, you just scare everyone away.

So here are important things to know
1: orderly's (2 of them) walk up there all the time. You don't even need to try and fools errend or charm them. If they have a gift, they are going upstairs.

2: When a ghost is in the red warded area their picture turns blue. This means you can now bind them ANYWHERE in the ward. Even if they are on the top floor, and you need to bind them a floor under. So once blue, put them where you need them

3: Do not waste time with pookas, the cute bunny girl or the dog thing? Having to chase the kid down, and risk everyone else taking the gifts and walking downstairs drove me mad.. What you need are the ones who hide in the mirrors.

So here is what you do. Get Tricia or Lady Rose to wait in the male bathroom south of the stairs. Hopefully you have 3 orders you can give them. 1: only use power at band 2: pick on orderly A, 3: pick on Orderly B. Wait, orderly comes in, the gift drops, they take it bam. I had the ghosts past the ward inside of 5 minutes. I didn't know if I should have been very happy or very upset. Love this game.

Well thank you for reading my tired ramblings.

it is not the last level as that is class of spook-em high. the red forcefield does have dialogue for when it is disabled so it can likely be disabled but, nobody have figured out how.

Originally that was the last level. But since they never got a sequal, they added on another level to give the game an end, instead of leaving with the "To be continued" The red ward cannot be disabled, but you really don't need to have it such, since everyone who is upstairs is mad save for the professor, who you can drive insane 5 seconds into the level.
driving the professor insane is suicide as then the level can not be completed. i know because i have tried it. the red ward likely can be disabled but so far nobody have figured out how.

You can insane the professor and win. That is how I did it, everytime. As I said before the ward CANNOT be disabled. You need to sneak a trojan gift up there with ghosts bound to it, by giving it to an orderly. Orderly's go upstairs into the ward all the time. Did you read what I wrote even?
if you make the professor insane before freeing the darkling you can not win and i know because i tried it. the red ward can be disabled but nobody have figured out how. as long as the darkling is not free it can be disabled but, most people have not played around with it as it is so difficult in the first place. likely have something to do with something behind it. maybe even a ghost nobody considers.

Ok let me explain EXACTLY what I did, and show you are wrong.
1: I made the professer insane in the first 5 seconds.
2: I bound trina to the mirror in the mens room with the orders 1: use power at band, 2: go after orderly A, go after orderly B.
3: waited 2 minutes for the orderly to pick up the trojan gift.
4: bound Storm Talon, and Daydreamer to the gift.
5: waited for the orderly to walk into the warded area (took 5 minutes total)
6: Bound Storm to the electronics in the middle room of the cells, used surge to open all the cell doors.
7: Bound daydreamer to sleeper, used sleepwalk to get him out of there.
8: Now with the free darkling, and everyone upstairs crazy I bound him downstairs and proceeded to scare the crap out of everyone and won the level.

So ONE MORE TIME. you can beat the level when you make him insane, and no you CANNOT disable the red ward because there is no power source to it.
the professor have to be scared in order to get the people out of the cells as they leave the cells when the professor is running scared. the power source of the red ward is simply hidden.

You just have to make him insane. Darklings top ability. Red ward can't be disabled, BUT you don't need to disable it anyway. Once you make the doctor insane, everyone in the red ward is then insane, and so that completes what you need to pass the level.

no. making the professor insane prevents the prisoners from leaving their cells. there is dialogue for when the red ward is disabled so, logic dictates that it can be disabled.

Did you read that step by step guide I made? I made the professor insane first AND won the level. I did it, I saw it done, you are wrong. There is no dialogue for getting rid of the red ward, you are thinking of the other levels where the wards were tied to electronic devices. This ward cannot be disabled.
there is and always had been dialogue for getting rid of the red ward. open the hc_cuc_3.snd in the voice folder.

Just because there is a sound file, doesn't mean it is in the game. Lots of games have unused assets. What's more I and many others tried to take down that ward to no avail. We tried surges, quakes, typhoons etc everywhere we could. Especially at that electric box upstairs that looks like it might be something, but really isn't. No it is rather safe to say, that the ward cannot be disabled.
