Two questions who finished the campaign

I have the retail version of this game. I havent played it long time but
my recent play of FE: LH ignited my interest in this genre again and I installed the game using my cd.

I am interested in story and thus tried campaign.
I do not know how long it took me to finish Julia's three maps since I dont have steam version, but alas it was long.

Since there are so many campaing maps, I used cheats to see the remaining maps and I am
shocked (!) by the possible difficulty of these. Even though campaign is very well written, it will take tremendous times.

So here are my two questions.

1. Do you play this game for campaign or for sandbox?

2. If you play campaign how long it takes to finish?

I have read gamefaq's walkthrough and even the author wrote that the last mission of the campain took him more than thousands turns to finish. In my book, then this game is really hard core.

While I was playing sandbox game with FE LH, it did not took very long to finish the small map with 3 other cpu players. Can I expect the samething here?


ps)I have a feeling I might spend another dollars just to have timing feature embedded in steam. I know that there are third party tood but I just like to keep everything here. Arghhh I have all three retail versions. Oh well..

Both.
Campaign is the second best in my not so humble opion.(after wizard throne storywise)
And the gameplay is fun.

Both campaigns are brutal tho even on easiest.

campaign exists to teach new players how the game works. I spent over 800 hours on this game, purely on random scenarios.
