It keeps crashing mine too
Do this and it will fix it:
Control panel > hardware and sound > sound > manage audio devices > recording tab > right click an open area under mic and line in > mark a tick next to show disabled devices > right click on the stereo mix icon that appears and click enable

If you're using speakers the game is most certainly going to crash, you have put a headset in to play now.

I had the exact same problem and the fix is as simple as plugging something into your microphone jack

LOOK IF YOU HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE GAME DO THIS(FFS):
Control panel > hardware and sound > sound > manage audio devices > recording tab > right click an open area under mic and line in > mark a tick next to show disabled devices > right click on the stereo mix icon that appears and click enable

I did this and it worked first time when it would crash on launching gameplay.
Windows 7 x64.
oh well it worked for me.....so try google it!

i still cant get mine to work and i have done that whole thing with the contol panel now what should i do also i have tried every tip i have found like turning off speakers and pulging mic in but my game will not do anyhting it just closes every time i try and lanch a battle

errrr.............sorry man thats the onlty solution i have.

Just make sure something is pluged into your mic jack. I know that sounds dumb but it works. Just try it.
