Cockpit view in space battles?

I have tried the 2.2 conversion pack and the 2.2 extreme mod. I can get the cockpits in the new maps, but none in the prebuilt maps. Do these mods add the cockpit to the original game modes or just the added ones? Thanks.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I can go to 1st person view just fine. The 2.2 conversion pack adds a few cockpit textures to the x-wing, y-wing, and tie fighters. I found the Tactical Enhancement mod adds cockpit textures to all fighters.

hmmm... have you tried checking the controls and see if any key for that function is listed there? some games have functions but with no keys added to them yet. the player has to do it him/herself. so try checking that.

I downloaded a mod that only added the X-Wing cockpit and the very glitchy Y-Wing cockpit

it's only for the modded maps, it dosen't effect the normal game
