GAME CRASHING? HOW TO FIX IT (WORKS)
Hi all. I have been hearing a lot of new threads talking about this issue. I have posted this already in many threads and helped out a lot of people already who have got it to work with either of these methods. I have tried two methods that work perfectly. Here they are:

1) Stereo Mix Glitch
- Go to Control Panel
- Go to Sound
- Go to the Recording tab
- If you do not see Stereo Mix, right click and select Show Disabled Devices
- Enable Stereo Mix
(If you still don't have Stereo Mix, you must plug in a mic and enable it)

2) Compatibility Glitch
- Go to your game directory in Steam, Steam apps, Common, Star Wars Battlefront II, GameData folder.
- Right click on the game exe, go to the Compatibility tab, and check run this program in compatibility mode.
- Then select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or Windows XP (Service Pack 3).

*UPDATE*
Many users have recently discovered a new method. I have now tested this myself and can now confirm that it works. Thanks to all of you that found out about this!
3) Mic Trick
- Before launching the game, plug in a microphone or earphones, headphones, etc.
- Start up the game and go into any mode, and test if it works. If it does, you should be able to unplug your earphones or mic and it will still work.

*UPDATE 2*
For those wondering if the game runs on Windows 10, I can confirm that it does. I currently play on Windows 10 and it runs smoothly at 60 fps.

If anyone knows any other methods of fixing it, feel free to post them in the comments.
Thanks, I hope all of you can now play this awesome game crash free.

Also, here's a video quickly showing the Stereo Mix method:

Tried both options.
Got the game running and can get into battles but my monitor says "Not Support" now.
Is it my method of input (HDMI)?

Edit: Changed the resolution, works!

I did the same last night and I was amazed at how it worked well for me. Happy for the time being until I figure out how to use GR properly :P

Not working for me either, whether I try joining a multiplayer server or just playing the campaign it immediately crashes.

Try either of the methods I posted above and it should work

I've tried both methods and they don't work. In fact, they made the problem worse. The game loads up to the menu screen but then crashes as soon as I try to start a game. It used to just close down but now it crashes my PC with your fixes in place. Any idea what to do?

Test out different compatibility modes or try inserting a mic. Sometimes having the mic disabled causes the crash you described.

To play in Spanish go to your library, right click on the game, go to properties, and then go to set launch options, and type in this:

/lang 1

It should then be in Spanish.

Ok I've tried both of these and it doesn't seem to solve the problem. However, my game doesn't crash it merely minimises itself as soon as I open it. Basically, I can see brief glimpses of the game and here the music so it is working, however I can't interact with it in any meaningful way. Any ideas?
