Ah. A pure masterpiece of the 90s

Fundamentally a great game with some major caveats. I got it when it first came out, but never finished it due to getting stuck. To be fair, I was able to get about 3/4 of the way through without help. But the last 1/4 is very frustrating and tedious. Definitely had to look up a walkthrough, or I'd have wasted days of my life just clicking things at random and probably given up.

This isn't helped by the fact that certain dialogue options are gated until you're in a specific room, and certain objects and locations are gated until you have gone through the necessary dialogue. So as you near the end, you have to click through all the dialogue routinely to make progress.

I loved the music and overall aesthetic, and the voice acting is surprisingly good. The ending is not as plausible but the initial setup and mystery of working out items, controls and exploring the map is fun. It's a simple game by today's visual standards, but in terms of design and puzzles, I think it still is intriguing which says a lot.

One tip is that on Windows 10 with 4K displays: I had to disable scaling for the game to look correct. You want to go to Properties > Compatibility > Change high DPI settings > High DPI scaling override > Override [...] Scaling performed by: Application. I'm sure there are other ways to do it too. ALT + S will allow you to turn aliasing / smoothing on and off once you are in game, not that it helps much.

Also you need to sometimes hover across the entire screen to find hidden areas or objects.

If the resolution were better, it honestly would make the game much easier IMO because there are lots of hints and symbols throughout that are simply too low of resolution to be useful.

If you love LucasArts and sci-fi, and are open to retro games, it's worth checking out even to just play a few hours.
