Kazama Chikage is my all time favourite!

Reasons:
1) Voiced by Tsuda Kenjirou. He executes Kazama's personality flawlessly.
2) Overall character design. He exudes dominance and elegance with the character design as well as the costume design
3) His assertive behaviour
4) He's a pureblood Oni. Different than the rest of the characters so his story is like a breath of fresh air.

This is the first time I'm going to play a Hakuoki game, so at first glance I'm choosing Iba Hachiro as my favorite. He's voiced by Mamoru Miyano. I may or may not be choosing him just for my bias for the voice actor.

Mine would be Okita Souji. His teasing from the very start (albeit kind of mean at first) made him feel kinda familiar and flirty in a way that suggested unusual closeness, at least to me personally. He was the person that first broke the ice or the 'professional distance' the other captains had to Chizuru like he knew her very well already, and that made me feel right at home.

Aaand I'm gonna be the weirdo there, because somehow my best boy happens to be Sanan. For a long, long time it was Heisuke that was "the one" for me, but then somehow i fell for Sanan more. Which is not surprising, because he fits my taste perfectly. You know. More science-y than fighting, yet can kick ass too. Tragic story. Long-ish hair. Glasses. Can be creepy and murderous. Yep. I love that man so, so much.

At first glance, I think I like Heisuke! I haven't played hakuoki before, but I think Heisuke seems like a bright person, he's cute and cheerful, I like characters who are kind of on the short side- also he's rocking a sweet pony tail I'm into it.

Shinpachi has always been my favourite, so I'm so super glad that he's finally having a route of his own in this installment! I love how he's so boisterous and can sometimes seem just a little bit like an idiot, but he's actually smart when it matters and has his heart definitely in the right place.

When i played the other game I loved Hajime Saito but Saburo Miki looks really interesting

Saito~♡ He's always quietly watching you from the start, looking out for you, even if he seems cold at first. But once you manage to melt him down a bit, he's such a sweetheart.

I like Heisuke and Yamazaki (who finally has a route yay!) loads too, but Saito will always be my Hakuoki Best Boy.

First love in my first game play, and one cannot forget the first love right?
He's sassy, handsome, the best swordsman of them all... and OMG I just love how he teases Hijikata!!!
