Divinity II DKS or Develeoper cut?
bought DKS before, now got bonus developer cut for free :D
i am happy for a moment, then confused...
so i got these 2 games in my library, haven't installed both yet but developer cut has bigger estimated file size than DKS. so, is developer cut upgraded version of DKS? if it yes, it certainly help me so i do not waste my hdd space by installing both.

just wondering IF developer cut is upgraded version why separate games....
btw, post it on both game's forum

Far as I can tell it is an upgrade if you already have DKS. Though, when starting up the game, haven't noticed any changes. As for the "developer mode", nothing on how to use it. So unless someone has figured out how to use it, would be appreciated :).

Hitting F11 should bring up the Developer Mode window, if you are playing that version of the game (there should be a shortcut for the regular DKS version, as well as the executable with the Developer Mode included).

From there you just have to poke around a bit; it is mostly self-explanatory.

In the manual of developer's cut, everything is explained as to what you can do in dev mode.

I had DKS... If I swap an install DC do i lose my saved games? i got about 25 hours in an dont wanna lose them . anyone help?

No, you will not loose your saves. D2:DC is essentially DKS with the Developer Mode added, so there are no save format changes, or compatibility issues. When you uninstall DKS you may be asked if you want to keep your saves, or not (though you can always make a backup of your saves to protect against an accidental miss-click).

In XP the saves are in the folder

C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \Local Settings\Application Data\Divinity 2\Savegames

or in Vista / Win 7

C:\Users\ %username% \AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames

You may need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folders (XP, Vista[www.bleepingcomputer.com], Win 7[www.ghacks.net]).

No, the Dragon Knight Saga is the original release of Ego Draconis (remastered) + the expansion, Flames of Vengeance.

The Developer's Cut is Dragon Knight Saga with a couple additional bug fixes and an optional Developer Mode cheat window.
