Custom content from users is really what makes this game shine... That is if you are willing to sift thru the crap.
I would get the game if its on sale.. its not a bad game.. its just not a great game either.
But it is definitely easy, with the exception of a few missions, which a tough-ish, but not brutal.
creating a stable economy is pretty easy, and that usually will get you through any mission, for the most part.
But that isn't where the fun lies for me. Sure, I can plop down a few houses, build a few farms, and wait for the end, but where's the fun in that? Creating a smooth, diverse economy is where the fun is for me.
As Łųćįąñ said, role playing is a part of it. Do you want to be a brutal dictator that squeezes every bit of productivity out of your enslaved population? Or do you want to create a Caribbean utopia of happy, healthy, wealthy people?
I have a few hundred hours in this game and still love every minute, especially SANDBOX games.
So I respectfully disagree with some of people's opinions here.
AS for ntall1's suggestion of custom content, I've never tried any, the few times I looked into it, getting custom content to work seemed like a brutal process, and this is coming from a guy who loves modding. Maybe I'm wrong on that though.
