when does the securom DRM activation kick in?

I have installed this game via steam but I have yet to boot it up fr the 1st time?

have i already used one of my 5 installs already?
or
does it kick in once you press play for the 1st time?

im upgrading my RAM and i dont want to lose an install


seriously... STEAM + GFWL + Securom with no way to revoke? what a way to screw your customers

I am PISSED after upgrading my system to windows 8 and then replaced my CPU,. SSD, GPU, System board. All the hours I have played and now this crap about too many activations. I have had this on the same EXACT PC the whole time. I have paid for all the expansions and have over 80 hours of my time into thes game. I will quit STEAM forever if they do not help me with this.

This is Garbage, WB needs to do a better job with this in the future. Thankfully Window's Live is dead so don't have to worry about this going forward iwth the next set of games.

DRM sucks but it does give us security but i do concur the idea on why should we be limited by extra keys? it's such a silly idea if we paid for the contraption?

the problem is why the ♥♥♥ add securom to a steam game in the first place, let alone a version of that limits you to 5 machines. im not buying anything more from wb untill they sort this ♥♥♥♥ out

That's why i think DRM is stupid, Why limit things when you can play anything you want cuz you PAID for it ya know? However i heard there are some fixes and cracks you can download so you won't have to worry about the annoying DRM. Cuz why LIMIT something if you PAID for it. It's like buying a video tape from a store and you have to return it and it's not even a rental? That's just silly.. But i do NOT condone piracy though.
