Activating Amnesia on Steam

I bought AMnesia a while ago directly on the Frictonal Games web site, and I would like to activate it on Steam, but it seems not to work. Is there a solution?

I would assume you've gone to the bottom of your account Steam program and clicked "add game"? If so I would double and triple check you're entering the code right first with dashes included if necessary. If you've done all that the next thing I would do is restart your Steam and try again. After that I would see if there was possible a verification through the Frictional Games website or maybe some instructions on the FG website on how to activate it.

I'm having a similar problem, except I bought mine through the Ubuntu Software centre.
I can add it to steam, but it doesn't recognize it as a steam game. I'd much rather have everything in one place. Is there some way to get codes or something?
Besides, I've switched to Mint since buying it, and no longer use the Ubuntu Software Centre anyway.

I searched the FG forum for some help, and I discovered the worse... It is not possible to activate Amnesia on Steam if it's bought somewhere else... Thanks anyway!
