Okay, need help with installing custom stories

Yes, I know, I've tried the "extract files, put em in custom stories folder"; but for the life of me I can't get it to work. I can get full conversion stories to work because they are simpler, but the dang custom story issue is driving me a little up the wall.

An example of what I'm dealing with is with the story "Dark Room"
I extracted the rar file, and inside the instructions say put all of the redist folder's materials in their proper folders
did that, put those folders in each of the texture, sound, etc folders.
But it still won't run. I go in game, go to "Custom Story", and 'blank', nothing to pick from, as usual

I need my humorous sub-indie cs fix guys!

Well, got Dark Room to work doing this:

Take out the "darkroom" folder out of the "custom_stories" folder from the custom story you just downloaded.
After that, put the "billboards", "entities", "sounds", and "textures" folders into the "darkroom" folder.
Then, move "darkroom" to the "custom_stories" located in your game directory. DONE.
Much easier than putting everything in their corresponding folders like the creator told you... no offense creator :3
This works and I know because this is what I did.-NOTE- YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED THE JUSTINE PACK IN ORDER TO PLAY THIS. IT'S FREE JUST GOOGLE IT!


But I'd still like some comments on this topic, because I don't know if this kinda fix works for every CS

I will consider that(the one game I directly got from Desura was Erie, and it was fun). But I was hoping for an actual good fix in relation to steam.
