My Amnesia wont launch! *FIXED!

Im not sure what is going on, my steam simply wont launch amnesia. It worked last week, and the engine THINKS its launching it, but it doesnt.
-All the files are there
-I re-downloaded it
-Every other steam game works
-Turning off my security didnt work either
And it worked just a few days ago -.- plus, my control panel doesnt detect its even running, does anyone have a solution? Id be grateful.

I'm not really good at this, but I had the same issue with only Amnesia too. Turned out I had to update my graphic card. This case is slightly different though. Sorry, that's all for me :/

Hmm, odd, it appears MORE games that were working before arent working either! Its either my steam, or something else...

I have the game and it works fine, my computer is so awesome I have all the settings maxed and it runs without any lag

Exactly, my dear sir. So did mine. Its not a lagging problem or my computer cant handle it, I played it maxed too. It simply won't launch anymore, along with a few other games.

After steam update, game doesn't start on my end also. It works if I run the launcher directly from my home directory. Running Mint 13 64bit KDE. Also this is my first post here, hello everyone...;)

I don't intend to start a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but do you own an ATI/AMD card, and did you update the drivers? I used to keep mine fairly current before I realized every month I had the pleasure of discovering which games I couldn't play anymore. Now I just stick to a driver until a new game demands I update it.

Lol your computer doesnt need to be a beast to handle amnesia on high settings, i can do that too! Does anyone know how to download the custom stories or do you have to pay????

Just visit a website that has custom stories, download it, extract it from the .zip folder, then go to

C: Program Filesx86, steam, steamapps, common, amnesia, custom stories, the drag the custom story file in there.

Could be a few things, I fixed mine by completely turning off my anti-virus software (Amnesia should appear as a threat), and doing a steam-fix. It could be a number of things though:
-Does your system fufill all the requirements to play?
-You may need to update certain drivers
-Try doing a steam-fix (Go to your steam installer, launch it, and click Repair Steam)
-Try re-installing the game
