Cant play custom story

i downloaded a custom story and put it into the custom story folder but when i launched the game it didnt show up on the custom story menu, am i missing something?

Did you put the .zip folder in the file

i put the folder in the file but it was a .rar

i think it was a total conversion but it wasnt a .zip, it was a .rar so do i need to convert it to a .zip?

this is telling you specificaly how to install the total conversion mod white night but it will work for any other full conversion mod

This may or may not sound like a silly question, but did you actually extract the files from the .rar? The main difference between custom stories and full conversion mods are that you need to extract a custom story in the custom_stories folder, while a full conversion mod you extract into the main Amnesia folder. Also, check the files in the .rar for a readme. There's usually instructions, especially if there's anything further you need to do. What story are you trying to install?

ok, so i redownloaded it, its the full conversion for killings in aldstad and its a .rar file, what do i do to make it work

Hmm, I haven't played that one, but I took a quick peek at the page. I don't see any special instructions, so with it being a full conversion mod, you should just be able to extract all of the files into the main Amnesia folder. It may ask to merge files, which should also be fine. As mentioned before, check for a readme file that that could have additional instructions. Other than that, there's generally a .exe or .bat file that you can run the mod from directly.

i tried every thing you said and it still didnt show up, maybe i'll try another mod
