The game doesnt launch at all. I can run similar titles like age of empire and rise of nations but this game is maybe not optimised for paralells or I am maybe missing from software/requisite plugins? Please help. Thanks

This one is driving me absolutely bananas. I've restarted it multiple times because the game just keeps screwing me over and over again with no break in between to recover. I'm about 50 hours into the game, and all of a sudden it won't run anymore. Anytime I try to start the game through Steam it pops open a window ever so briefly and then closes again (Steam goes to the 'Running' status and then goes back to show the option to start the game again). Have rebooted galore and validated the install. Any ideas as to what could be causing this issue? For some reason the sprites in the jobs are not moving anymore. (i.e dancers, weavers, potters, ect ect) Not even the well is filling up with water when someone takes the job. Anyone know a way to fix it? I haven't changed any settings, it just suddenly stopped working...
