Linux Issue

I'm using a HD6670 i windows it was enough to run the game smoothly, however in Ubuntu 12.04 the game lags a lot, if I'm walking down a path the game seems smooth, but whenever I do the fps takes a major hit, for instance if I'm walking and shot the game slow down,.
Anyone encountered the same problem?
Using the fglrx by the way (not the beta).
