Need help please. L4D2 Lag on weapon switch.

Before today I've played L4D2 for about 90 hours and never had this problem. Today when I went to play L4D2 I switch my weapon and the game stops and replays the weapon switch sound for 5-10 seconds, like freeze, or lag every time I switch to med-kit, pills, secondary weapon, etc... Please tell me how to fix this problem.

Edit: I played singleplayer game, and it dosn't seem to do the lag on singleplayer, but still does on multiplayer, please help.

I've been having the same problem. I think it has to do with the servers, they're lagging more than ever. :/

I know! Recently, I was playing on mulitplayer, and, whenever I'd switch my weapon, I'd have to sit there for 5 or 10 seconds. I got kicked because of how much that screwed me and everyone else up! (By everyone else, I mean I would get downed within that period of time, and they'd either have to pick me up, or leave me.)
Wait a second. I think I see the foreshadowing in the game's title. You lag so much, they leave you for dead. xD
