Left 4 Dead 2 keeps crashing

Okay, so I downloaded the game from Steam. Everything was fine, and I got to play a one-player match for like, 5 minutes, but I had to go to school so I left. I haven't been able to load any modes since then. It gets to the main menu just fine, then to the loading screen. After that, it gets stuck and it plays some sound over and over again until it crashes. I verified the game cache, uninstalled then reinstalled, and it still doesn't work. I was wondering if anybody could help me. Please?

the game crash on my computer too but during the game after 1 or 3 hours of gaming then the screen freeze and it repeat the same sound over and over so all i can do is restart the computer.I don't know if my situation have some connection to your problem anyway this is my experience.

I'm having the same problem. I'm looking for any sort of solution, if I find one I'll let you know. I'll keep you posted.
