well kinda i do agree
this was much a joke
I hope so.

I really miss L4D1, it had plenty of uniqueness and fun aspects (and personally I find it more competetive) compared to L4D2, only reason it died was because of lack of support.

Hell even if they had just updated it to have workshop support for maps etc.
I don't think this'll make any sense as anyway, it technically won't be the same feel for both last titles because of the new supposedely promising "engine". L4D1 would be a weak or not even a attempt to revive it, might as well put L4D2 free on that occasion.

Out of everything, TF2 wouldn't be number 1 FPS without it's free to play behaviour.
Pre order left 4 dead 3 and get a free copy of left 4 dead .Have l4d already ? gift it to a friend

There's no way to make Left 4 Dead F2P. There's no marketability in microtransactions, and the influx of new players would mean they'd actually have to reinstate official servers for the game. It would all be a big money sink.
L4D2 doesn't really have a load out, not sure how it could have micro transactions for gear...
L4D2 F2P? Never ever ever ever :@). How could you conceive that idea? It makes no sense at all.
thats a good idea. L4D2 could be free after dat. L4D2 should be mandatory with Windows 7, along with media player classic home cinema and battlefield 3 ahah.

F2P != necessarily microtransactions. THink what they did to Portal 1, it was free to download for a period (like a free weekend, but longer) and anyone who downloaded it got to keep it for free.

Ideally I would hope they would add workshop support so that you no longer have to get custom maps from 3rd parties, and give it a bit of marketing support on the front page of the steam store.

For Left 4 Dead? No. For one, Left 4 Dead modding requires editing a directory file, it is not as easy as modding Left 4 Dead 2. (This does not apply to maps, however.)
For two, the Workshop is not as reliable as established (established being the important word here) third-party sites, and creating a functional 'Shop for Left 4 Dead would take time better spent on other things. Considering very few people actively mod for Left 4 Dead, content theft is almost guaranteed to be rampant as well.

I specified maps you dolt. I know all about the issues with using L4D1 mods.

And if content theft occurs, then if the original map makers actually care about it they can go dispute it and get their name on it. If they don't, well it's more content for the players regardless of the name on it.

I believe calling me names is unwarranted for a single misunderstanding. However, content theft is still content theft, it's in the Workshop user agreement, it's in the eyes of Valve, and thus should be punished.
"Content for the players" is the weakest excuse I have yet to hear for taking somebody else's work and doing the comparatively menial job of uploading it "for" them. Original authors are the ones doing all the work, they are the ones who decide where their work goes. If they say "yeah, you can submit my work", more power to ya. If they don't say anything, that counts as a no, too damn bad for everyone who uses only the Workshop.
