dlr is killing l4d2

No way to filter the servers.
The arses running the servers saya it the most popular, BS the have poisoned the in gamne lobby game search so you can only join dlr.
The dlr game servers do not stop when the servers are empty or being ganked, so dlr servers end up preempting all other servers...

We need a game filter so we can choose, not allow a bunch of w#%$s to co-op server for the nefarious purposes.

Only way is use 3rd party game browesers and even then half the time You have to join the server before you find out dlr krap.

The game needs a proper filter such as TF2 has and most other source engine games, expecting users to go through an obscure pattern to play on an official server is not a good standard, it might benefit 3rd aprty servers to a degree but in essence it doesn't as the ones who dont like it then either grief or flame bait the clients in the 3rd party server who do enjoy it making things miserable for everyone.

Also being condescending to a person who doesn't like a 3rd party server "you" admin on isn't very nice, it shows a certain lack of respect for the community as a whole and doesn't bode well for your group.


@OP it is a shame i agree, the only reason it is "the most popular" is by adding so many servers to the list that users are more likely to join one and the hope is that most will jsut think "oh well it is better than nothing" then stay.

I agree it would be good to be able to set only official or only a set mod group then random quick match into that.

^^ This, but this has been said since the first 3rd party servers in L4D. It sucks that we can specify "offical" servers but not vanilla, which doesn't make much sense. It is more intuitive to think of "official" = vanilla, not "official" = whatevertheheckpeoplearerunning.

Also to be able to exclude maps for quick match would be awesome.

Yes our group has a ton of modded servers and because of that our group has thousands of members.I've recently became a Tech in the group and i'm looking forward to making server side mods or whatevers in the mod category. If you dont like modded servers theres other servers in the game. Why dont you play local for awhile if seeing modded servers pisses you off that much. Plus this thread is pointless, It's like you just created this thread to have a reason to troll.

I'm pretty sure L4D2 would be alive without you guys. The other game modes live on just fine without you.

It's unfortunate that there's no way to server blacklist, favorite servers, or server browse in L4D2 like there is in TF2. Locally hosting really isn't an answer, it's a shame that should be the solution to avoiding modded servers.

No, they are keeping the community alive by entertaining the casual players that keeps buying this game. Elitists are the one breaking this community apart by their arrogant ways. It's easy to be nice, but seems like the hardest thing to accomplish out of ¾ humans. I can agree the gameplay is far too random and completely uncomprehensible because of their tons of plugins in dlr, but still. The game vanilla naturally is boring because it's either impossible for a team to comprehend good work as infected, or survivors are too OP with their mass ammo that not even a marine squad could carry t2's joy about. Out of all the 2k vs games i had over steam, there was barely hundreds that was good and enjoyable without the stinks of insecurity that ruins this community. The hate is too quickly assumed here. On the main side, it's true that a filter for quickmatch could BE VERY APPRECIATED. It's a pain to load 5 maps in a row on servers you dislike the content, espescially when you are a sloader. As well, the bandwagon of hate against mods is getting ridiculous, modding doesn't mean it's for trashing. It can improve the quality of a game, specially when the game owner is valve, because valve is lazy as hell but having good stuff. Good thing source engine is an easy thing to manipulate for everyone.
