People accused me of wall hacking. (SOUND IS IMPORTANT)

The funniest thing happened to me yesterday while playing a versus game in some pubs.
Man it was hilarious when I played as the survivors and I capped all the special infected with a hunting rifle. We all have played together before and the other team was just ****** to me..

Has anybody experience something like this?

I mean I could here where they were because they made noises, so when I go up near a wall or anywhere, I rotate my character around so I can pin point the location of the sound.
Most of the time I can hear, locate and even shoot a Tank that hasn't spawn (in campaign only duh) and the SI providing they have spawned(in versus).
Do people even do this?

Sometimes even a simple difference between left and right side of your screen can help you locate obvious SI locations. If you have a surround sound system than you are basically gawd because you know where the infecteds are coming from when they try to attack you.
YOU CAN HEAR AND LOCATE SI FROM BEHIND WALLS, WHEN THEY'RE STALKING YOU, OR IN FRONT.

People always get mad at me for doing stuff like this.

I'm not trying to sound rude or anything but this is pretty much "blog" material.

I see this all the time in Versus where people accuse others of cheating because they got shot through a wall. I've even seen people rage quit because of it. Think about it people...any one of the primary weapons in this game is powerful enough to shoot through a wall in real life...why should it be any different in the game? I don't hack or cheat in any way when I play this game and I have shot SI through walls many times. I shoot at walls all the time in spots where I think an SI might be hiding.You just have to learn that spawning behind a wall when the survivors are close is a noob move and chances are they will hear you and start shooting at the wall and you will be killed before you have a chance to attack.

One example is on the concert level of Dark Carnival. There has been many times when I am survivor and just as I leave the safe room, chances are the people playing infected will spawn in the washrooms off to the right. If they are standing too close to the outside wall, you can see their shadow. I will start shooting at the shadow and boom...they are dead. Then I get accused of cheating and the person I killed will no doubt rage at that point.

Being shot through a wall has nothing to do with hacking or cheating. A piece of plywood or drywall wouldn't save you from an AK-47 in real life and it won't save you in the game. Simple as that.

I'm suprised that they don't ask for a screenshot before raging or talking ♥♥♥♥. Even if the profile you play Left 4 Dead 2 on is private, you can still upload a screenshot, copy the link to the screenshot, and paste it in the chat box. I would only ask if I was very suspicious, hadn't been suspicious enough to ask anyone myself.

They only crouch down right before pouncing, or more realistically, before leaping onto the skybox to fly halfway around the world and get skeeted.

my only regret, for this case, is that L4D2 don't have unlockables, upgrade system, skill tree, so you can lose all that with your VAC ban!

There's soo many readily available hacks for this game (material hacks, wallhacks) that sometimes it's hard to tell whose legit and not. I literally spent 15 minutes searching for a wallhack and there were many to be found.

If you press spacebar when spectating you can spec in first person mode. It makes it easier to spot whose wallhacking and whose not. Some are easy to spot as they will get greedy trying to flex their fake muscles trying to get all the kills before their teamates do. Some are not wallhacking and just good or using really good headphones. Maps are so familiar spawn spots are known. The greedy ones you can call out, though all deny it. There will be many that deny such hacks even exist even though they are plastered all over the interweb.

I lost track of how many times I got called wallhacker for killing Boomers through walls. I mean, you're gonna spawn early, as a character that takes up half of a room in space, making more noise than a Tank, and you expect decent players with assault rifles not to try and wallbang you? Get outta here.

Had a Deagle headshot on a Jockey attacking a teammate inside a saferoom from the outside, while incapped, it was pretty epic but getting called wallhacker for it, while all I did was shooting at the red outline... People will often call others hackers and whatnot if they suck, or if they lose. That's how online gaming is, and I doubt it's ever gonna change. It's not "let's play together and have fun", it's "let's insult each other 'cause I'm better than you". Sad but, that's how it works.

There ARE actual hackers, but I honestly didn't see that many in L4D2. The hitboxes are off and the lag is deceiving, many apparent hackers are actually laggers with some luck on their side.
