Left 4 Dead 2 Settings Don't save after Update!!! (worst update of all time for l4d2)

Hello everyone, it seems this July 2nd update has been horrible and has broken my l4d2. Not only did it remove a bunch of models and textures but it makes my l4d2 unplayable.
Anyways, I have my Video settings set low so I don't get any lag, (ex. My shader is at low, Resolution is 1280 x 720 also when I bind keys I does now work either and my keyboard options also don't save) but anyways whenever I shut off my l4d2 it resets my options EVERY TIME! I had never had this problem but I blame valve for it. I am not the only one having the problem, one of my friends can't even launch l4d2 now because of the update! Valve if you watching this FIX the update!

If anyone can help me, I would be thankful.

Me too everytime i restart lfd2 my settings are lost, how do you do a update and screw things up wowwww Fix Please

I am having the same problem. I've been playing L4D2 for about 4 years without any problems. Since the update, I have to reset all my video settings everytime I load the game. I've also noticed some other problems that I didn't have before. Like in the finale of Dark Carnival when I move far away from the stage, all of the equipment on the stage disappears. When I move closer, it all reappears. That never happened before. So Yeah...thanks for the stupid update that has ruined my L4D2 experience.

I am telling you guys this is by far the worst update for l4d2. I really want to downgrade my l4d2, ♥♥♥♥ the mutations give me my l4d2 back. If anyone from valve is watching this THEN FIX THE UPDATE!

Games launch error is related to the client update, otherwise for your game and textures error i haven't experience anything before my game starts to refuse loading up.

I agree this horrible update makes my game look snowny it has never been like this how did Valve screw up an update?
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with issues!
The game is playable but looks really bad but to explain snowy well a screenshot would show but I'm don't feel like posting it cause if you can't save the settings whats the point of trying to fix it? I tried changing the settings but the game is still snowy so guess we are stuck until they patch this patch ack!
So a good game ruined by an update and my guess its purely untested cause as we all see this caused issues instead of fixing things very weird.

Anyone of you have -dxlevel xx in your startup options? That resets it. It did for me with Garry's Mod.

Try lowering the amount of film-grain applied. I think, but not 100% sure as I'm not at my gaming rig, that it is under video settings.

EDIT: Also, I'm also having the same issue as others here where my settings don't save after restarting the game.

ya lowering my settings dosen't work and don't save so I'm stuck with a snowy game :(
Check your steam inventory that little envelope in the upper right hand corner of steam :)!

I have to ask one more thing, though. If you get the time would you mind posting a screenshot of it? Now that I know it's not the film grain I'm even more curious. Plus, I really wanna see you get this resolved.

Nah its cause of the patch and I accidently removed the screenshot I would have to make a new screenshot and I'll wait on this game!
