If there is enough interest in this mod and nobody picks it up, then yes, i will try to create this mod.
After i wrote the original post, i was thinking to ask Sony/Naughty Dog for permission. I've been in 2 Star Wars mods, and both were cancelled because LucasArts couldn't make a profit from it. I don't want that happen again.
Maybe with the new EMS it could be done, haven't touched that yet, but right now there's no easy way to make a game type as described.
In my personal opinion, it also defeats the spirit of L4D, which is fast-paced zombie slaughter with as few complications as possible.
