How to remove Jimmy Gibbs jr. in Dead Center?

Hi guys, I wasn't playing Dead Center (in single player) for a while, and Yesterday in the last stage I found that the normale infected were replaced by an army of Jimmy Gibbs jr. I never used the console, just once for adding new songs at the jukebox, so I don't understeand why this happened. Also when I have filled the car with all the gas tanks, the game crashes with a message that say something about a "female tank" or something :P . Sorry for my bad english and for my noobish.

It might be some mods or the new songs you put in. I had a simialer problem when i couldn't play any campaigns, so i deactivated some mods and then it worked again.

I think I can shed some small light on the female tank error.

In the transition from L4D1 to L4D2 the team added a female boomer skin which seems to show up randomly when spawning a boomer. Furthermore you can see the devs intentions to have more variation among special infected if you check out the game's CVARS in the debug console and notice "boomer_leaker_chance" which is permantly set to 0% as though the idea for a special type of boomer was considered, and then scrapped. Another example is the Wedding Dress Witch model from The Passing campaign which is not loaded for any other scenario and any attempt to spawn it from the console will cause the game to crash and complain that the model was not preloaded. Its no small logical leap to assume that a reference to a non-existing female tank was left in the code with no model.

As an aside to interested parties there is a mod that preloads the Wedding Dress Witch model for use in all campaigns.

couldn't you be on a server that has custom mods? maybe it crashed because you didnt download the female tank texture when joining a server, or whatever

Right, I totally went off on a tangent and forgot to get to the point earlier. If l4d2 tries to create an entity without a properly loaded (or preloaded) model it will crash the game rather than fall back to a default model --a poor choice in my opinion. If you were playing multiplayer then its highly likely the server had a mod to spawn Jimmy Gibbs Jr in place of normal infected,much like the popular mutation19 "Taaaaank" replaces the common infected with only tanks, and a female tank in place of the normal one. If you try playing the game again with the same settings and find the error does not repeat itself you can assume the problem was not your local install.

Ok seems that Drake was right, it was an add on campain that messed up two normal campains, now all works perfectly!

boomer_leaker_chance : 0 : , "sv", "cheat" : **Chance (0 - 100) in which a boomer with modified behavior will spawn. Explodes and set aflame when player is near.


So in console or your .cfg copy and paste - boomer_leaker_chance 0
