NEED URGENT HELP

I cant play L4D2 anymore, one point everything was fine, then it crashed. I tried restarting, but it kept crashing even before it was to the loading screen. I tried uninstalling, STEAM CRASH. So, I deleted all files in common --> Left 4 Dead 2, hoping Steam would restore them automatically, but nope, Steam still crashes upon attempting to start, delete, or anything else.

P.S Im on a mac. (I didnt get to pick the OS, dont blame me.)

ok man. Look. Right click on game name, then press delete local content. After that restart steam. Install the game. right click on game name, properties, local content, defrag cache. play game, have fun.

I cant defrag or uninstall, BUT... I noticed that TF2 was unable to start aswell, so I think the fault lies in the HL2_OSX.
