Can't import sprays

when ever I try to import a spray, it always says that it's too big. I don't have this problem in CSS. please help.

If you have photoshop or a way to change it to bmp that will work

I used to have this problem but here's how i'd imported my sprays.
1.Find a picture you like and save it into your desktop or where ever on your computer
2.Go to paint and under edit click paste from and find the picture that you saved from your desktop.
3. Make sure you resize the picture to 256 on paint otherwise this won't work.
4. Now save the picture onto desktop or where ever on your computer.
5. Now start up L4D2 and you should be able to import your spray :D

thank you. I didn't have to resize it like you said. instead I saved it as an bmp like the guy above mentioned. but thanks anyway.
