L4D2 random crash?
Well before I updated from Windows 8 to 8.1, L4D2 worked fine, but now with the update, it crashes on me when I start playing The Passing, it has worked fine in other levels of the game, but it has only crashed on me while I tried playing the first level of The Passing, during the cinematic, and while i tried joining an online game, also in The Passing. Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Same here. Since windows 8.1 crashes on the cut scene for the passing about 2 seconds in.
Tried all the usual fixes but no luck yet.

Verified the game files and all working now.

I am new on steam, just started using it last month, so how do I verify these game files, and where do I find them?

Right click on the game in the library view and select properties. Select the local files tab and the verify integrity button is at the bottom. Click that and go and make a cup of tea because it takes about 10 minutes.

Thank you so much, i did what you said, played the passing part 1, which is where it usually crashes, and it worked fine. :)
