Left 4 Dead 2

Visa statistik:
A pretty poor welcome back to L4D2...
I've just come back to the game after 4 years away as I've fancied playing again. Now I've been kinda busy with not a lot of time to play games, so I guess I'm a little rusty. Tonight, in a little under an hour of playing, I've been kicked from versus games twice.

Now up until tonight, I could count the amount of times I've been kicked from a session on one hand, in about 15 years of online gaming and those were usually based on high pings. Not etiquette violations. Pretty much every game I've been in tonight has had a kick vote appear, for whatever reason; I've never seen so many kick votes in any game. It's like the game promotes anti-social behaviour.

In the last game, a griefer called 'Trevelyan' instigated about 3 kick votes on different people and they failed. I suggested perhaps he should leave, but finally on the second stage as survivors, he fuel bombed me before we'd even left a check point and incap'd me. Before I had a chance to instigate a kick vote on him (I thought it warranted it), I got kicked from a vote started by another player! ([FR} J4mb0n => Finis la b...) Presumably for slowing up play by being so selfish as to be incap'd by a griefer. Unbelievable.

So this is the playing community in L4D2 now...I'm not sure I want to be a part of it, when you are not welcome unless you are 'l33t' enough. Don't get me wrong, I'm not crying because I think I'm a great player; I'm what you might call a 'mature' player and I'm definately quite a bit rusty, but come on! Give us a chance! I think I might be better suited playing the offline campaign, at least the AI players don't grief you or try and kick you for a laugh.

Perhaps bots are more welcome in this game...

I'm sorry you had such a poor welcome back. Don't let it sour you on playing multiplayer though. Playing with friends is the most common solution, but I can understand how sometimes that isn't an option. I suggest that you just don't let it get to you like it has, and move onto the next game.

Honestly, versus isn't worth it anymore.
Left 4 Dead 1 versus has less griefers, but only slightly so.

Yes versus community is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ than a pig pen. I've been doing campaign rather than versus lately to avoid the problem at hand. HMU if you would like to do some campaign.

Add me as a friend! I love playing Campaign mode and survival; really fun :) I never kick people only unless they idle for to long or greifing :D

Versus is not the way to go theres no room for learning because people get way into it thats manly the reason i stick to straight Co-op Survival and Campaign
Its a punk kid game anyways

The only way around these kinds of people (being on your team at least) is to find good reliable and understanding friends to play with.

Appreciate the replies all. I get it. I guess it comes to all online games at some point and if the devs choose to ignorem it's gonna be rife.

I think I will add those that offered and see if we can try and have a decent game :)
