Special infected that don't make noise
I'd like to renew my objection to the cheaty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that is silent specials. Is this a glitch, or intended? I'm talking about how some specials are completely mute until they attack, in campaign mode.This has been happening for the last few months, and it diminishes this great game.

I'm pretty sure that all the specials make noise. I think something may be wrong with your install because in every game I played the last few days I could distinctively hear every special zombie before they appeared.

Perhaps try to verify the integrity of game cache or go for a fresh install?

I've verified/reinstalled, don't run addons, and have heard similar complaints from others. It happens infrequently, but it's definitely noticeable.

I've read that the Hunter can stay silent among other specials, but is it happening to all of them?

Yep, I've seen em all with the same silent mode "glitch".

This is an option for private servers and in my opinion enhances the game by forcing you to not rely on audio clues. My advise is to play the entire campaign this way and to stretch out with your feelings and use the Force. It can only make you a better player.

Happened last night with a tank. But I haven't had this happen with any of the threatening si.

If you are worried you can just bait your teammates ;).

If that is true, it would be retarded in some instances, such as being able to easily death charge in the first map of Dead Center and other locations on different maps. It would give an unfair advantage to the infected team.
