Spraying Issue : My End or Valve?

Basically this is what is happening; I can hear sprays go off but I cannot see the actual spray unless is it one of the standard ones that comes with L4D2, and whenever I spray no one else is able to see my image.

If anyone else is having this issue please post it in here so we can get this fixed.

If anyone out there is super tech savvy and has some ideas on how to fix this feel free to openly brainstorm here, I'm almost willing to try anything to fix this.

I think it depends on the server to allow custom sprays and whatnot. Also the spray only works on some wall (apparently not all) although you'll still hear the spray sound. For me, I can see other ppl custom spray and some are hilarious. Back to your question, I'm not really sure how to solve this issue.
