Crahing issues on laptop
every time i try to launch L4D2 on my laptop, the intro cutscene and menus work perectly. however, my problem is that as soon as a level is done loading up, the screen just starts swithcing back and forth from black ot just totally off. at the same time, the audio is constantly looping over and over, and if i wait too long, my laptop eventually starts making LOUD buzzing noises and the only way to stop it is to hold down on the power button

here are the specs for the laptop im using:

Primary VRAM: 157 MB (according to Steam's "System Info" page)
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66 GHz
4 GB of RAM
*GFX card was manufactured by Intel

i know the GFX is card nearly borders minimum specs, but im able to play L4D1 with few issues on lowest settings (excluding slight control unresponsiveness and lag at points, but still runs pretty good)

UPDATE: my friend told me to format my Hard Drive because he thinks Junk Files interfere with it playing somehow. i MAY try that sometime in the near future, although im still wondering if anyone on Steam Forums has similar issues and/or knows a solution

Disable any add-ons you may have and try again.
Often these humble add-ons seem to cause such trouble, and have done so for me many times.
If this doesn't work, try turning the settings down to as low as you can and obviously disable all the video filtering options (AA etc) and disable multi-core rendering if it isn't already.
Good luck!

ive tried pretty much all of those options except the disabling multicore rendering. ill try that, although i doubt itll work (maybe this crappy laptop really cant handle it even with decent-ish specs)

anyways thanks for the advice! ;P

Yeah, if your hardware simply cannot handle it, then maybe it's time to justify buying a new one :D
