I verify files all the time. So that wont fix it.
I found this amusing, random screams in the level. Like zoey in dark carnival "GAME OVER MAN GAME OVER!!" from a distance, made me laugh.

Now on no mercy, louis is screaming for help randomly. when I look at him, nothing. he is fine, not moving his mouth, but the screams sound somewhat behind us.

Either my game is glitching, or the infected are learning to speak.

Have you tried reinstalling the game? If that doesn't fix it, try disabling all of your mods to see if one of those is causing the issue.

Either you are trippin' again (Remember the mystery voices from your headphones you had a conversation with?), or you really messed up your gamefolder with mods and whatnot.

I would really try cleaning out all the mods and perhaps completely reinstall. May be a pain, but what you experience there (if you actually do - Again, mystery voices ;) ) isn't even funny in the long run, is it?
