What would happen if left 4 dead 2 got a hat/key trading system?

Unless left 4 dead is the only valve game you play, you will know that both dota, tf2, and counterstrike all have a currency known as "keys". Tf2 has hats + keys, dota has treasures + keys, and counter strike has camos + keys. The system evolves around people trading, scamming, and negotiating deals to try and buy cosmetic items. A large portion of people will even sell the for real money. Valve uses this so that people will have something else to do when they are not playing.

Since tf2 has the system i am most familiar with, i will give you examples.
- one weapon,
- (main) refined = 18 weapons
- (main) key = 7.33 refined
- bills = 6 keys
- bmoc = 13 keys "I don't know this, but this is a guess"
- (main) earbuds = 20 keys "Last time i checked"
- max head = 2.3 buds
- houwar = 10 buds
- burning team captain = 134 buds AKA 6700$ in real money.
• These are only the most well-known items, but there are several more.

One thing i liked about left 4 dead is that they never had this kind of market. And i personnally don't want them to.

I want to know what you think would happen if trading became a thing on left 4 dead 2. And how you would react.

I think that the game would increase in the number of new players, since the traders from the other games would come over to help with their budget. However, i would also believe that old and hardcore fans of the game may leave due to the fact that it would ruin the whole concept and bring in a crap-ton of people who don't even play the game for it's purpous.

Now I ask...what kind of feelings would youh have if this was added? and what do you think would happen?

I would set out to burn the Valve HQ to the ground. Hats are that stupid, pointless and out of place. This is a f***ing co-op zombie apocalypse game, not a war-based hat parade simulator.

It's already bad enough that they started implenting it into a serious game like counter strike.

Exactly why they put these sort of things into games. I can already see it now.

The last thing this game needs is an "F2P" subculture even worse than it already has. While I would like some reward for my playtime, I want it to be in trading cards or something that's already there instead of a gimmicky new hat for Coach which I won't see any way because I've modded him into something else.

That brings up another point, hats just can't be implemented into the current client-side game. Nobody would see them. People buy hets to show off, yet in Left 4 Dead 2, nobody would see it. Not you, because you're playing your character, not anyone else, because they live in their own world. It'd be like paying money for a not top-quality mod you could have gotten fro free through the community.

I know this would most likely knock any workshop survivor skins out the game.. but i like game where you unlock costumes.

like beat normal campaign, unlock a costume, expert, another, realism expert another.

Like, have a zoey skin for a female character that you can earn. So then it can be a way to show off what you achieved in the game.
For me, Alternate costumes are all I care about unlocking.

I think the hat idea is funny. Even though I had highest score on tf2 out of both teams, because I didn't waste money on items, I was a f2p noob. lol.

So, I stopped playing team fortress and stayed here.
