Kicking Players Elitest Problem

Too often I have seen people kick players for being new to the game, "slow" , or just because they are trying to get a friend in the desire character slot. I bring this up because I was once a newbie to the game and recieved the kick more then once with out even one reason to why. The more people display this level of gamer elitism, the less people will play. If you want a pro game make your own room with your friends. If you do not have enough friends to play then help with the players that have the misfortune of not knowing what to do. I like having a diverse team of players because in life not everyone knows what to do. This give the game a hightened level of realism and difficulty.

if someone kicks me, i just find a new game.
no one has kicked me because i was bad (well, they say i was doing bad, buti noticed i am kicked for picking someone up, or staying back to keep a slower player safe.. slower i mean limping.)
but the way i see it, im kicked for being a teammate.

Oh look, its this thread again. Vote kick requires a majority vote. If you're getting kicked, its because the other people in the party would rather not play with you. Whatever their reasons are, its for the good of everybody involved. If votekicks don't pass then usually someone either leaves or starts to friendly fire the team, or both. Plenty of people do help other players, but less often on Advanced or Expert. I can't speak to what occurs on Normal/Easy difficulties, but Advanced and Expert should be reserved for players who are knowledgeable at the game, skilled at FPS, and willing to cooperate and communicate. A new player who is holding the team back on higher difficulties will likely just get kicked for poor play. Nobody is obligated to play with you and put up with mistake after mistake just because you are a new player. It might be fun for some to teach newcomers, but not everyone is that patient. Furthermore, not every new player is receptive to advice. More often than not, when you tell them what they're doing wrong, they will resort to insults and friendly fire. This problem has existed for 5 years and as such has created this skill level division. It can be hard to tell the difference between a fresh noob and a troll, and not everyone will bother to make the distinction.

If you're talking about public versus games, then thats a whole different story. It isn't fun to play with a noob on your team, nor is it very fun to just demolish noobs on the opposing team. Players in versus want to have a good match, not pick on noobs and not carry one either.

New players have many options available to them, such as forming their own party, making their own friends, or even running their own server. Official Steam servers use votekick in order for the community to police itself. Play with one friend and you eliminate the possibility of getting votekicked. Dedicated servers are typically privately owned, so if you're getting kicked there you really have no choice because someone else is paying the bills to keep that server running. If you want absolute control, use a Local Server but be prepared for your teammates to lag like hell.

If you're getting kicked very often, then its probably something you are doing wrong. Read a guide, watch some videos, or play on a lower difficulty until you really get a feel for the game. Numerous tools are available to you through Steam alone, let alone YouTube or Google.

This game is 5 years old and this complaint is 5 years old too, learn to live with it because it is just the nature of any co-op game with no system to differentiate new players from veterans.

People try to kick me for just simply playing the game. New people & veterans have tried to kick me. Nothing new. And again we have another person wasting space on the forums complaining about the vote kick.

But yeah, it may suck to be kicked, but it's better to be kicked than to play a round with people who'd rather kick you.

One thing I do have to say: if you're new, imitate the people already in the matches you join. Heck, imitate a bot-- you'll learn much faster than if you just screw around, and honestly you'll have more fun since you won't be spending all of your time staring at the walls of respawn closets.

That's for co-op at least. Versus is another animal, and I look up to the brave souls who jump into it.

Well, imitate SOME things a bot does, such as keep up with survivors, communicate, share health items, kill commons that are hitting others from the side or from behind them. You should also wait for people to load before opening the safe room door, and wait for people before starting crescendo events.

However, there are a lot of things NOT to imitate that bots do, such as wasting health items or standing there while a teammate is incap'd by a special infected, and helping people up instead of fighting the tank. The bots are terrible with healing items, fighting tanks and witches or even special infected. They also don't use melee weapons and they don't pick up grenades nor throw them.

True-- I meant as an absolutely new player, though. If one's good enough to understand the concept of wasting health items, you can generally get by just doing your own thing on Easy/Normal games. (Seriously, though, the number of people who heal at 50 on Normal . . . . I think I've finished more games on Advanced, ffs. Then again I don't play pubs above normal very often.)

games are being ruined because of "elitist" gamers how are people supposed to get better when they are constantly getting kicked? That used to happen to me when I first started and because of that it took me a lot longer to adjust and become more skilled as opposed to if someone who was a veteran helped me out and showed me the tricks.

I played with a guy yesterday who had over 9,000 hours of game play. He only had the game a few years. I figured out that he averaged like 18 hours a day of game play. What was amazing was that this guy wasn't even that good. LOL!

maybe try to pay attention next time. i bet you're the one whos always being saved and who cant save anybody.. if you dont wanna be kicked.. you should bring a brainless friend to play with.

I met guy who had 5,800h, but didn't saw a gameplay....
