It's not that hard. Just chip away some of the charger's health before attempting to kill him with a melee weapon.

I level chargers all the time now... even in Versus.
Practise makes perfect.

I don't get the achievment, but i've killed many chargers with mele weapons, what do i do wrong?

you have to hit him while he charges.
i got it by playing 4 swordsmen.

by luck.. but it helped.

it's hard to time it, it always seems like it hits me before it's close enough =/ just have to keep trying!

It's kind of difficult to time it right, you have to shoot it a few times first and then hope to sidestep and meele at the same time.

You don't need to sidestep at all, nor do you need to shoot it first.
If your aim is good enough, you can simply stand right in front, and knock his head clean off.
Although, it does take skill/training.

It is easier if you get a bullet into him first, and as it is hard to get the HS, be standing slightly left of him as hitting his arm side does more damage than the other.
